Vexlum

Picture
Vexlum manufactures high-power laser systems based on the vertical-external-cavity surface-emitting laser (VECSEL) concept to address applications in quantum technology, industry, and medicine. The Vexlum team has been a leading development group in the area of VECSEL technology for more than a decade. Our laser platform (i.e. existing "VALO" product line) combines a semiconductor gain architecture with efficient intracavity wavelength conversion, offering the broadest wavelength coverage from UV to near infrared with low-noise single-frequency operation, watt-level output power, and excellent beam quality. Benefiting from a superior SWaP-c compared to established laser technologies and the in-house semiconductor fabrication, VALO lasers target the industrial scaling of quantum technology applications exploiting ion- and atom-based architectures.

Within AQuRA Vexlum team will develop and supply a new generation of high power 461nm lasers needed to laser cool the strontium atoms for the optical lattice clock (Tasks).
