NKT Photonics is the leading supplier of high-performance fiber lasers and photonic crystal fibers. Our main markets are Medical & Life Science, Industrial, Aerospace & Defense, and Quantum & Nano Technology. Our products include supercontinuum white light lasers, low noise fiber lasers, ultrafast lasers, and a wide range of specialty fibers. NKT Photonics has its headquarters in Denmark with sales and service worldwide.
We have lasers in space and deep under the oceans and our products run in both clean rooms and on oil rigs at sea. We seed the World’s largest laser fusion experiment and power hundreds of the most advanced microscopes on the Globe. We aim to make a difference in the World and we are involved in projects that will transform the way we live through life-science, renewable energy and the basic understanding of the Universe. With over fifteen years of expertise, IP and experience, NKT Photonics strives to continually be the market leader in everything we do.
Within AQuRA NKT Photonics will lead the laser systems work package, as well as using our DFB fiber laser technology for developing the 689 nm cooling laser and 698 nm clock laser.
Patrick Montague will be responsible for administration within the project. He has been a Research Scientist at NKT Photonics for 5 years and has extensive experience in the application of fiber lasers, specialty fibers and project management. He manages NKT’s EU-funded and locally-funded projects and is responsible for NKT’s role in five H2020/Horizon Europe projects, two Eurostar projects, and three Danish Innovationsfonden projects.
Poul Varming will be responsible for the laser systems work package and the laser development at NKT Photonics. He has been a Research Scientist at NKT Photonics for 21 years and has extensive experience in developing low noise fiber laser systems based on DFB fiber laser technology.
Jakob Hauge is a Research Scientist at NKT Photonics and part of the laser development team for AQuRA. He has a background in fiber lasers and specialty fibers, and has been with NKT Photonics for 6 years.
Casper Breum is part of the laser development team for AQuRA at NKT. He has a background in continuous-wave quantum optics and has been working as a Research Scientist at NKT since 2022.
